Italy's S.A.I.M.A.N. 202 liaison

Design

The S.A.I.M.A.N. 202 was made of a wood structure with a composite covering. They were originally made to be touring and rally aircraft.

  • S.A.I.M.A.N. 202/I: Had a Alfa Romeo 110 in-line four cylinder engine producing 120 - 130 HP.
  • S.A.I.M.A.N. 204: Could carry four passengers. There were triangular shaped glass at the rear of the cockpit area.

Usage

The S.A.I.M.A.N. 202s were used in all Italian theaters of operation.

After World War II

In the 1950s the surviving S.A.I.M.A.N. 202s were sold to civilian flying clubs.
